The specially developed adhesive on the open side provides high initial tack while allowing for virtually residue-free removal for up to 14 days on almost all substrates (not on natural or artificial stone; a preliminary test is mandatory in these cases). The tape is ideal for the temporary installation of textile carpeting, particularly on concrete screed, and is perfectly suited for use at trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, movie premieres, and during renovation work. It can be torn by hand, is easy to remove, and offers excellent resistance to moisture, water, and chemicals.

Key Features

Strong PET fabric backing, double-sided adhesive

Adhesive: Synthetic rubber with differentiated adhesive strengths (strong adhesion to the carpet, weaker adhesion to the substrate)

Tape color: white; backing color: brown (release paper)

Thickness: 250 µm

Can be removed with virtually no residue for up to 14 days

Not suitable for natural or artificial stone (test for suitability beforehand)

Particularly suitable for concrete screed

Moisture, water, and chemical resistance: good

UV resistance: moderate; fluorescent: no

Elongation at break: 40%, tensile strength: 50 N/cm

Tearability by hand: low, can be torn by hand

Temperature resistance (long-term): up to 40 °C, (short-term): up to 80 °C

Very good initial tack, very good fogging resistance

Static shear strength: good at 40 °C, moderate at 70 °C

Easy to remove; removability after 14 days (85 °C, 95% relative humidity): very good

Adhesion strengths, among others: on steel, initial 5 N/cm, after 14 days 5.5 N/cm; covered side, initial 7.5 N/cm, after 14 days 8 N/cm

Adhesive strengths, among others, on PE: initial 2.5 N/cm, after 14 days 2 N/cm; covered side: initial 4.5 N/cm, after 14 days 5 N/cm

Adhesive strengths, e.g., on PP: initial 4.5 N/cm, after 14 days 2.5 N/cm; covered side initial 6.5 N/cm, after 14 days 5 N/cm

Not suitable for labeling

Applications

Temporary installation of textile carpeting

Trade shows, exhibitions, and conventions

Movie premieres and events

Remodeling and renovation projects

Suitable for use on many subfloors, especially concrete screed (not on natural or artificial stone)

Summary

The tesa Professional 4939 installation tape provides a secure, strong, and yet easily removable carpet fixation for all temporary events and construction site applications.
