Various variations of FFP masks

In addition to the FFP2 masks predominantly mentioned in everyday life, there are also FFP1 and FFP3 masks. The main differences lie in the area of application and permeability. Accordingly, the FFP1 mask must filter at least 25% of the test aerosols, the FFP2 mask at least 94%, and the FFP3 mask even at least 99%. There are clear prescribed requirements that are also tested. Whether a particle-filtering mask has passed the verification procedure can be determined by the CE mark with a four-digit number on the mask.

Differentiation between FFP, surgical, and cloth masks

A distinction is made with face masks not only between the individual FFP variations but also between surgical and cloth masks. A conventional cloth mask has no labeling as it falls under the category of clothing and only protects against droplets when inhaling, and the droplet emission is only reduced but not prevented. For a medical face mask, also called a surgical mask, the CE mark can be found on the packaging. The surgical mask is used for external protection as it only slightly protects against aerosols. The FFP2 and 3 masks, on the other hand, provide full protection against droplets and aerosols and are therefore used for both self and external protection. Whether the mask meets legal requirements can be recognized by the CE mark with a four-digit number on the mask. Protective Gowns

Suitable for your application area, you can buy affordable protective gowns from us. We offer protective gowns made from polypropylene non-woven fabric (PP). This PP gown is latex-free, breathable, and closes with elastic cuffs on the sleeves. The non-woven fabric gown is not moisture-resistant because it is breathable. However, the elastic cuffs on the sleeves largely prevent the entry of liquid on the forearm. If you rely on a moisture-resistant protective gown, we recommend SMS gowns. The protective gown is three-layered and protects against liquids, blood, and viruses with its PE-coated front. Furthermore, the disposable protective gown is tear-resistant and equipped with ties at the neck and waist. We offer both variants of protective gowns in the colors blue and yellow. Additionally, you will find PE disposable aprons and full-body protective suits alongside the protective gowns.

Disposable Hoods

Disposable hoods also serve infection protection. For example, in the food industry, they prevent hair and dandruff from getting onto products or into food. In hospitals, staff wearing a disposable hood also protect patients from infections caused by hair and skin particles. Nurse caps made of lightweight polypropylene non-woven fabric have a good fit, are breathable, and are sewn with a double elastic band. We also offer surgical caps made from viscose non-woven fabric, which are particularly tear-resistant due to seam reinforcement at highly stressed areas.

Face Shields

If you want to protect your entire face and an FFP mask is not enough, you can also buy a full visor made of plastic according to EN 166:2005 in your Altruan Online Shop. The face shield is sweat-resistant, non-glare, and offers reliable protection. It is also ISO certified and offers good resistance to disinfectants.

Shoe Covers

To complete your protective clothing, only the shoe covers are missing. Disposable shoe covers made of CPE with elastic bands are needed, for example, in hospitals, clean rooms, and the food industry. The overshoes available from us are 41cm long, 15cm high, and 0.03mm thick. However, due to the elastic band, they are applicable for all shoe sizes.
