Rigid, cellulose-based zinc gel gauze bandage — low resting pressure, very high working pressure.

Description

Gelocast is the rigid version of the zinc gel bandage: a non-elastic gauze bandage. Its pressure profile is characteristic of decongestive therapy—low resting pressure, very high working pressure. The compression is therefore most effective during movement and promotes venous return all the way to the deep veins.

Because the bandage is rigid, it does not give way when applied; this allows the pressure to be applied more precisely than with an elastic bandage—which requires experience in applying the bandage. Gelocast is made of 100% cotton with cellulose-based zinc gel.
